Start Here: How GRAIN ROT Runs Work

System overview

GRAIN ROT is a co-op extraction builder: descend, scavenge, extract, rebuild, then go deeper; solo is supported but generally harder.

How It Works

Each run asks your group to enter hostile spaces, recover useful resources, and get those resources back to the Outpost. Rebuilding the Outpost supports the next deeper attempt, so extraction matters as much as surviving a fight.

Your First Run

Treat the first descent as orientation for the extraction loop. This overview does not provide a tested first-run route, combat plan, or extraction checklist; use the linked answers when a current, sourced condition matters.

Solo or Co-op?

Solo play is supported, but the official direction describes GRAIN ROT around co-op chaos. A solo player should expect less room for recovery when a Vessel breaks and should use the solo guide for its current balance boundary.

Where to Go Next

Use the Multiplayer pages to set up a lobby or assess group size. Use Progression & Outpost when an unlock is unclear, and Vessels & Spark when a run changes after a Vessel breaks.
